Today the Master Guides left for their expedition. In the pouring rain; no surprise there. River and Reiss are with them. (I really wanted to go, but my knee is acting up and I'm still recovering from being sick.) After sending them off with well wishes, Sarah and I returned to the dorm to pack. We had permission from the dean to skip classes. So we chilled and packed... somewhat. Actually, we got about 80% packed.
For lunch we were supposed to meet "the girls" for lunch across the street at Ricchezza (the local restaurant) to celebrate a birthday. But unbeknownst to us, they chose to eat at the cafe. By time we figured out that they weren't coming, our stomachs has already decided to stay. So Sarah, James and I hung out there for a while.
That afternoon we just chilled. We hung out in Communications with Nico until sunset, when everything closed for Sabbath. Vespers at the church was okay. It was really different to not have those who were out on the expedition.
